Leipzig, Germany, March 18th, 2025: Peres Academy, a pioneer in advanced learning techniques, has chosen a DHD SX2 audio mixer as the centrepiece of a new audio and video media production facility. The project was supervised by Jerusalem-based system integrator Broadcast Design Ltd.
“Situated in the city of Rehovot, 20 kilometres south of Tel Aviv, Peres Academy is one of Israel’s largest centres of learning,” comments Micha Blum, founder and CEO of Broadcast Design. “The academy is building a new innovation hub and asked us to design and equip a single-operator control room plus a studio. We responded with a system that is both versatile and easy to use, delivering high quality sound and video. Installation, testing and customer familiarisation were completed in just two days. We are always fast.

“The new facility will be used to create course-related content including podcast-style presentations by the academic staff. The control room is equipped with a four-fader DHD SX2 audio mixer configured with two layers. Four Shure microphones on Yellowtec adjustable mounts are positioned around a table in the studio. All the microphones and headphones connect to the Mic/Headphone I/O box of the SX2 via via a single CAT cable. We have also integrated three Bolin NDI enabled cameras with remote pan/tilt/zoom control. These feed VMix live streaming software which is controlled via an Elgato Streamdeck XL. The combination allows very creative video content creation, recording and streaming. Live or recorded multichannel audio and video capture are supported, plus easy editing.
“DHD’s SX2 with integral Dante IP audio connectivity was chosen for its operational versatility, robust build quality and space efficiency, leaving plenty of room for multiscreen video monitor displays, loudspeakers and related equipment on the control desk. The system works well and is very operator-friendly.”
DHD SX2 consoles are based on a compact central module with four 100 mm motorised faders. An integral 10.1 inch display screen allows operators to see exactly how each console is configured both from connectivity and signal level perspectives. The central module gives access to the most important audio inputs and outputs. A microphone input and headphone output are included and loudspeakers can be connected directly.
SX2 consoles can be expanded by adding one or more modules, each incorporating six motorised faders. Functions such as loudness metering and talkback to other DHD mixers are also supported.
