Penang, Malaysia, May 22nd, 2025: Han Chiang University College of Communication in Penang has chosen a DHD DX2 audio production system for its media training studio. The project was implemented in cooporation with Stagetec Asia from its base in Cyberjaya, Selangor.

Han Chiang University College of Communication was first established in 1999 as a college and elevated to university college status in 2017. It holds the distinction of being the first university college of communication to be established in Malaysia. The university offers a diverse array of academic programmes in communication and media studies, applied creative arts and design, business and management.
“This upgrade is aimed at ensuring Han Chiang University College of Communications remains at the forefront of media and communication education, preparing its students for careers in the broadcast and wider field of electronic arts,” comments Yap Wei Keong, Senior Project Manager at Stagetec Asia.”
“The DX2 system we recommended and duly integrated fits the university’s needs perfectly. The console incorporates a four-fader central panel plus a six-fader expansion module. It includes motorised faders, a multitouch display and a touchscreen GUI. We also integrated two DHD XC3 Core signal processors and Multi I/O Box. The system is really easy to use, especially for students who are just starting to learn broadcasting. The DX2 is designed to run standalone. Its modular design also means it can be easily adapted or expanded to meet future requirements as educational requirements evolve.”
“We also implemented Zenon Media’s Radio in a Box plug-and-play radio automation system for the studio which is designed to streamline contemporary broadcasting with features such as playlist scheduling, playout, database management, editing and voice tracking. The project was completed within a four-day timeframe, including a DHD full training and commissioning.”
“It is always pleasing to see our products selected for integration into training studios,” adds Christoph Gottert, DHD International Sales Manager. “Early experience to consoles such as the DX2 allows students to gain confidence in live broadcast presentation and post-production which will encourage lifetime media careers. Our thanks also to Advon Tan and his Stagetec Asia colleagues for handling this project with their usual expertise and efficiency.”

Designed and built to withstand intensive use, DHD DX2 consoles form the basis of a compact fully featured desktop audio mixing system based on a four-fader central console plus a six-fader expansion panel. Both DX2 modules are equipped with a user-configurable 7.8 inch multi-touch screen for viewing fader and central control parameters. The expansion panel has six professional grade 100 mm motorised faders with dust-protection.
Each channel incorporates 100 mm motorised faders, two control buttons, a UTF8-supported channel identifier, adjustable gain settings, an input channel meter, plus programme/off-air selection. Each fader can support a second layer. Dedicated potentiometers are provided for headphone and loudspeaker level. The maximum number of faders is determined by the capabilities of the connected core. Four faders plus a dedicated section for setup, monitoring, talkback are incorporated in the central console.

DX2 connectivity features include a broadcast quality XLR microphone input, right and left line outputs to feed active loudspeakers, a 6.3 mm jack stereo headphone output plus a 3.5 mm mini jack input port which allows direct audio insertion from a smartphone for live telephone interviews.
DHD DX2 control panels can be connected to DHD XC3, XS3 or XD3 cores. Compact and easily upgradeable, the 1U high by half rack width XS3 is designed to allow fast and easy configuration. Up to 20 faders (stereo), 11 summing busses, six mix-minus busses and one virtual mixer are supported in the standard configuration. This can be expanded to 24 faders (stereo), 48 summing busses, 24 mix-minus busses and four virtual mixers. Connectivity can be expanded up to 64 inputs and outputs by integrating DHD’s optional Dante IPx module. AES67/Ravenna AoIP can be activated as an option.
