Leipzig, Germany, 26 September 2023: DHD audio (www.dhd-audio.com) reports a well attended and successful IBC with strong interest in the company’s range of broadcast-quality modular audio mixing and production systems. Highlights of the DHD exhibit on stand  8.B73  were the new XS3 IP Core processor and an enhanced version of the XD3 IP Core. Also on show were examples of  DHD mixing and production consoles which are available in a wide choice of formats and sizes.

“Visitor numbers on the first three days of the show were high with broadcasters clearly appreciating the opportunity to get first-hand experience of latest-generation production and postproduction equipment,” says Marc Herrmann, managing director at DHD Audio. “IBC continues to be a truly international exhibition with attendance from existing and potential customers across the entire EMEA region.

“Our key message was the ability of DHD’s modular systems to support any scale of broadcasting, based on a range of control consoles which are space efficient and designed for stress-free operation. Most versatile of all is the RX2 which is designed for radio and television sound production. This is based on tabletop modules which can be configured for standalone operation or networked via a shared processing engine. Each section of the RX2 has customisable a 10.1 inch TFT touch screen which allows system administrators to assign the controls via a standard PC to match exactly the required workflow. The desk itself can be scaled from 6 up to 96 professional-grade dust-protected motorised faders.

We also offer compact consoles such as the SX2, DX2 and touchscreen TX2 which in turn can be installed standalone or networked with other DHD modules. Third-party system devices can be connected easily, local or cloud, and controlled via integral DHD routing and switching.”

New for IBC 2023 was the XS3 IP Core audio processor which supports up to 20 stereo faders on DHD audio mixing consoles with the accompanying multi-I/O Box. Occupying just 1U of rack space, it allows fast and easy configuration. An integral setup assistant tool allows a system supervisor to choose between default settings with a choice of assignable-button functions, display layouts and more advanced settings. These can be selected using  DHD’s Toolbox configuration software which can be activated via an optional license.

Also introduced was an enhanced version of the  DHD XD3 IP Core audio processor. This is designed for use with mixing systems incorporating up to 96 stereo audio faders in broadcast studio environments, plus 10,240 x 12,288 channel routing. The latest version has a quad-core CPU capable of running additional features such as Thimeo Audio Technology’s Stereo Tool as a fully integrated option. A demo version is included in each quad-core-equipped XD3 IP Core.

DHD audio GmbH (www.dhd-audio.com) develops and produces digital audio studio equipment and systems for professional applications in broadcast control rooms, DJ-operated radio studios, OB trucks, SNG vans, ingest stations and edit suites.
