The basis for every studio setup

Occupying just 1U of rack space, the XS3 is designed to allow fast and easy configuration. An integral setup assistant tool allows a system supervisor to choose between default settings with a choice of assignable-button functions and display layouts.

More advanced settings can be selected using DHD’s Toolbox configuration software which can be activated via an optional license.

Gold upgrade

Simplified configuration software and feature upgrades

Systems equipped with a XS3 Core, will be configured with a simplified version of the Toolbox software called ‘SXConfig‘ or ‘DX2Config’. It allows to adjust a default configuration to fine-tune the system to your specific needs, including change of button functions, selection from a range of display layouts and rearranging initial fader layouts.

By adding software licences, you can increase the capabilities of the XS3. For example by adding the Extended Feature Upgrade licence (52-1950) you can design specialised display views with the Toolbox configuration software and define the number of logic functions, peak meters or add channel delay.

Control options for all platforms

DHD provides platform independent, browser-based Web Apps, such as the Assist App to remote control a DHD device. The maintenance and monitoring of the XS3 core is possible with the System App.

Third-party systems, too, can interface with DHD products via Ethernet by using DHD control API, Ember+ or the open DHD External Control Protocol. Or just use GPIOs.

AoIP built-in

Each XS3 core has a built-in Dante 4×4 channel interface for talk-back, monitoring or recording. The AES67 mode can be activated to be used in a larger variety of AoIP environments.

AES67 / RAVENNA

For a maximum of interconnectivity with other AoIP equipment, each XS3 can be equipped with a AES67 RAVENNA IPx module (52-7567). This allows to use up to 128×128 channels directly in the core.

Dante™ for all Signals

With an optional 52-7580 Dante™ IPx module inside your DSP core, you can use up to 64 inputs and 64 outputs of Dante™ network and two Gigabit Ethernet ports for glitch-free redundancy.

Easy cabling

The XS3 Core provides common RJ45 ports for the connection of control modules and I/O boxes. Here, standard CAT cables are used, carrying Audio, Power and Control signals in the same cable – DHD’s APC technology.

Thus, your setup benefits from the advantages of common CAT cabling infrastructure which allows you to place I/O boxes and control modules anywhere you need them.

Fine-tune your broadcast technology

Need a tailor-made solution for your broadcast facility? DHD audio products are highly modular — and the XS3 IP Core is no exception, especially when ordered as one of our bundles:

An SX2 Bundle contains the complete hardware for a 10-fader mixing console with 2 layers. Also included is the 52-1340 Multi-I/O Box, which you can mount next to the XS3, underneath your desk, or in a rack, occupying only 1U. Bundle pricing offers significant savings over individual components.

You can add I/O modules from the full DHD product range to extend your system as needed.
