DHD Audio has completed a two-phase upgrade of Radio Tzafon's audio production facilities at its Galilee headquarters, supplied and integrated by Jerusalem-based Broadcast Design, equipping two studios with SX2 consoles, TX2 touchscreen mixers, and a shared XC3 core processor running full Dante audio-over-IP.

Galilee, Israel, June 23rd, 2026: DHD audio reports the completion of an upgrade to the audio production facilities at the Galilee headquarters of Radio Tzafon. The station broadcasts two programme channels via FM. Its output includes international and regional news, news-related interviews, music, sports and general entertainment. Radio Tzafon is also active online from its website (https://1045fm.maariv.co.il), including catchup programmes and podcasts, and via social media. System design, supply, integration and configuring were coordinated by Broadcast Design from its base in Jerusalem.

“The project was completed in two phases which began when the Radio Tzafon team chose a 16-fader DHD SX2 modular console for Studio 1 plus a TX2 touchscreen mixer for the MCR,” comments Broadcast Design CEO Micha Blum. “They were so pleased with the ease of operation, versatility, high sound quality and desktop space efficiency of the DHD equipment that they decided to update another studio with a 10-fader SX2 plus a TX2 producer’s panel. Each phase included full Dante audio-over-IP. All four mixing panels connect to a DHD XC3 core processor.”

“Each system is fully integrated with AVT telephone hybrids and allows very user-friendly control via the producer’s TX2 panel and the SX2 main screen. The configuration also provides facilities like talkback between studios, with complete logic exchange, shared global resources such as codecs, and plenty of clean feeds. All in a customisable setup with the option of secure remote monitoring and control. Radio Tzafon operates in cooperation with Radio 103FM whose CTO. Arik Ben David, can provide offsite assistance using DHD’s Assist App and Views App.”

A compact mixing console for radio and other broadcast applications, the DHD SX2 offers the same high quality construction, tabletop design and 100 mm motorised faders as the larger RX2 plus a streamlined configuration path and ready-to-use product combinations. Console sizes range from 4 to 16 faders. The central module has four faders plus a dedicated section for monitoring, talkback and central function management. The fader modules allow a second layer carrying up to 20 channels.

The SX2 allows important audio I/Os to be accessed directly from its central module. A microphone input and headphone output are included, and loudspeakers can be connected directly which reduces rack space and cabling. Each fader module comes with a chaining kit for optional physical connection of modules.

DHD desktop modules or panels connect to a separate signal processing core. The DHD XC3 IP core comprises up to two dual-core DSPs which jointly support up to 48 stereo faders and 72 stereo busses. DHD IPx expansion modules can be added to accommodate 128 channels of AES67/Ravenna IP audio in/out and up to 512 Dante channels. A companion module, the XC3 Concentrator, allows easy interconnection of multiple DHD IPx modules, control surfaces, and I/O modules. DHD’s APC technology allows audio, power and control signals to be combined along a single CAT cable so I/O boxes and control modules can be positioned wherever needed.
